You’ve heard the excuses …….. all the reasons people tell you why they can’t become a Christian. One of the most popular is, “I’m too messed up. I’ve done too many bad things. God wouldn’t want me.”
You may have committed murder ……… but if you have, look at Moses and David. Exodus 2, 2 Samuel 11
You may committed adultery ……… but if you have, look at the woman at the well and David again. John 4, 2 Samuel 11
You may have been a prostitute ………. but if you have, look at Rahab. Joshua 6
You may have been an embezzler ………. but if you have, look at Zacchaeus. Luke 19
You may have been involved in terroristic activity ……… but if you have, look at Simon the Zealot. Matthew 10:4
You may have attacked someone with a deadly weapon ………. but if you have, look at Peter. John 18
You may have lied about your best friend to save your own skin ……… but if you have, look at Peter again. Matthew 26
You may have stood by and watched an innocent man be killed …….. but if you have, look at Paul. Acts 7
I seriously doubt that there are worse sins you could commit. I don’t believe there is anything a person could do that would ultimately push themselves so far from God that they couldn’t be reclaimed.
God is in the business of redemption. It was his goal from the beginning of creation when Adam sinned, it was his purpose in sending Jesus to die on the cross, and it is still his primary focus in his relationships with men and women.
No place is too far.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
Thank you Lord that we cannot put ourselves anywhere that is out of your reach.
I’m sipping a full hot mug. How about you? Here’s to making today the best day of your life!
